Lorry Overturned Under Darwen Street Bridge
From: ArticlesThis single photograph shows Red Watch busy at work trying to make the vehicle as safe as they can , as similar incidents have occurred many times over the years with I am sure all watches at some time attending one of these. The drivers of the lorries do not notice the slight camber of the road and end up hitting the bridge and overturning, fortunately on this occasion and most of the others the driver is unhurt. Mostly all that can be done is to collect valuables to give back to the driver stop pedestrians getting too close and awaiting the arrival of the large tow truck usually sent to right the wagon and take it away.

You could be right there Nick but I am not certain.
Is that Jim Earnshaw on the top at the left?
I agree with Kevin it looks like Fraser on the left.
I think the officer to the left of the wagon is Fraser Harley but I can’t tell who any of the others are.
It is my dad, Dave Bowers x
