This large amount of photographs show two days which was known as the Bicentennial fire station open weekend, quite a mouthful, the 3rd and 4th of september 1994 . This was one of a number of events to celebrate 200 years of providing a fire service in Blackburn since the earliest recorded notes in 1794. This event was a great success seeing hundreds of people visiting being entertained and going away learning something about the station and fire fighting, also raising a considerable sum for the Fire Benevolent Fund. Many people contributed to the day not just those pictured behind the scenes and on the day and a great deal of help was given to us by people and companies donating prizes and contributing their time. Were you there do you have any recollections you would like to tell us and do you have any photos please send them to us
