End Of An Era As Fire Station Closes, Afternoon Do

A meeting of old neighbours, friends and colleagues

memorable

The dreaded hour had arrived it was time to say a fond farewell to the old station on Byrom street, we were to move into the new station a little later. As many people quite rightly said it was the end of an era. This get together was for the older end of the people that had memories of the old station and was held in the afternoon with sandwiches , cream scones, cakes, tea and coffee for whom we have to again thank Samantha Edwards a firefighter on white watch at the time, who with help from certain others produced a memorable  feast. Many faces turned up to say goodbye to the old station and to revisit old memories for what would be the last time at the station. There were retired firemen, wives, sons , daughters , grandkids and even great grandkids,  many people that used to live in the houses that surrounded the yard at the fire station.
