fm bill whitely with his pride and joy the 1957 dennis fire engine he has spent hundreds of hours helping restore along with several others. Many times he could be found having completely rubbed down again what everyone thought was a finished fire engine he was a perfectionist.

Restoration of HCB 500 started in 1980 and was completed in 1988 it’s first run was to Lancs Fire & Rescue Training Centre were a Vehicle Rally was taking place. I recall it overheating several times on route and having to knock on some front doors to request water for the radiator, I often wonder what these kind people must have thought when seeing a gleaming Fire Engine outside their font door
