House Fire Whalley New Road

This is a terraced house on Whalley new road opposite station close on a sunday afternoon in the late 1980’s, Station officer D . Bowers is bottom of the ladder on the left. Eric Trotter is the sub officer at the upstairs window and one of the officers at the base is Divisional officer Jim Hindle and also on the heel of the ladder could be Alan Metcalfe and Colin Western. We have had this photo for quite a while but were unable to identify anything or anyone so it with much appreciation to some of our viewers that we now know a little bit more.

I thought it was on Kenyon Street but I’m not going to argue with Dave. I think its Alan Metcalf and myself on the heel.
Can’t ever remember Dave Bowers putting a ladder up but there is the evidence and Jim Hindle !!!! A real rare sight Ha !
