  Went to Cedar St school with Joe were he was very kind to me and a good lad, he came to our house a few times in Langho. I lost touch with Joe and later met up with him in January 1975, I was manning the base pump in a 4 pump relay to the bonded warehouse near to Blackburn fire station, cold and bloody fed up then this figure emerged from the fire station with a very welcome brew… it was Joe we hadn’t seen each other since those school days in 1953/54, later on we did run into each other but as Joe was mainly manning the T/L this was not very often and I was at Gt. Harwood.
