In this area you will discover what the phoenix project group have been doing and also what is ahead , please comment if you are interested and send us your ideas on what else we might begin work on. The group set out certain projects and aims to hopefully be completed within a period of 5 years .
- The purchasing of any equipment it was thought were needed for example cameras, recorders, computers, projector and screen and more.
- The digitising of the fire station log books which has begun .
- Cataloguing all photos documents etc.
- The setting up of a web site to allow people from all over the world to access Blackburn's fire history, which if you are reading this has begun.
- To go out and orally record people memories of the fire service , Which has still to begin.
- To put on presentations to outside groups of people using the projector and screen, one such presentation has been done already. if you would like something like this please contact us.
- To continue gathering photos ,articles etc for people to see and collected in one place
The group itself is made up of Firefighters , ex firefighters , and enthusiastic volunteers some with experience and some with none.
