Blackburn Fire Station Open Day 2019

we were given the chance to help out guess what we did

What a great day again , we were lucky enough to be asked back again this year to demonstrate how things were in the good old days . Lost count the number of people we helped into old uniform and showed some of the old equipment that we have saved , many photos were taken and hopefully many moreĀ  people left with a little more idea about the changes that have been made through the decades and the reasons why . The group always enjoy revisiting the new station even though for some they never served there.Thank you Blackburn station for remembering us .

AN OPEN day hosted by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service saw many young children dress up in uniform.
Families attended the open day in Byrom St, Blackburn, on Saturday July 20 where the fire service put on demonstrations cutting off car roofs.
Children enjoyed dressing up and face painting, with fun rides, snacks and a close look at the stinger.
A raffle was also held with a TV being one of the big prizes won on the day.
The open day ran until 4pm, and was free to attend.
