Here we have another canoeing post, at one time it was very popular amongst all the watches with one of the firemen making his own canoe from scratch and successfully sailing it on many occasions. A number of canoes were purchased by the social club on the station and were available to all along with the trailer canoe carrier which as I have said before was designed and built by some of the firemen . Unfortunately I didn’t make this outing but as you can plainly see the weather was never an obstacle to station outings, the cooked meals only added to enjoyment usually I ended up doing the washing up for my part, not really sure where this trip was I suspect the Lake district but I am sure someone will let me know .

It was a trip through Grasmere and Rydal water finishing at the Waters Edge in Ambleside. Not sure on date but around 2007
