Clayton Street Old Snooker Hall Fire

We currently have 8 fire engines in attendance at a fire on Clayton street, Blackburn. If travelling around the area please avoid this area if possible.
The ALP and the Stinger are currently in use tackling the fire at a derelict snooker hall on Clayton Street Blackburn.
There are now 12 fire engines, the stinger and two ALPs in use at the fire in Blackburn. There is significant smoke in the area. Please be advised to stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed as a precaution. People travelling around the locality are advised to avoid

We’ve now reduced the number of fire engines at the scene to 9 including two aerial ladder platforms. The fire is under control but we would still advise residents to stay inside where possible and keep windows and doors closed.

At this time the Police are still making inquiries as to reports that people may have been inside the building. Approximately 20 local residents have been evacuated as a precaution.
We will be working to ensure all hotspots are dampened down over the next few hours. At this time we are not able to say what the cause is but a full investigation will be carried out as soon as possible
The incident has now been scaled down to five fire engines and two aerial ladder platforms at the incident on Clayton Street, Blackburn. Crews are continuing to dampen down hot spots

The fire incident on Clayton Street, Blackburn has now been scaled down to one fire engine and one aerial ladder platform which will remain damping down hotspots overnight.
