My friend and colleague Tember Walsh got married on Sunday at Stirk House near Clitheroe. During a photo session she drops her ring onto some decking which proceeded to bounce and then fall through one of the gaps and into the dark Ivy infested under space. Everyone tried to find the the tiny ring but it was a needle in a haystack but and no luck. I get a text message at quarter to one in the morning from the upset bride, “I need you and your metal detector please Mr Riley”. So first thing in the morning off I went. I nearly cried when I saw where it was lost, it meant crawling into a horrible dark damp vegetation infested hell hole. There was no way of swinging a detector under there so it was a finger tip search with a pin pointer. Anyway 30 minutes later I got a good signal and bingo there was the little fella. Ring was reunited with the bride and off home I went to put calamine on my nettle stings, she was still buzzing later on whilst we were at drill
