1960's Cleaning Equipment
From: ArticlesThis photo shows some fire men cleaning their fire equipment. This is a weekly occurrence on all fire stations where fire men are expected to keep all their equipment clean and ready for use. Different machines are done on different days and also the station has to be kept clean as well. Cleaners are employed to daily clean and empty bins but once a week the firemen have to set to and clean the station from top to bottom. Check out the photo of Saturdays’ engine house clean. That was guaranteed to wake you up in a morning. In the photo are at the back Brian Loftus, left, Don Smithson, middle Alan Green and right Joe Pickup , the missing fireman is Derek Prescot

I think the firefighter back left is called Brian Loftus I did my training at Manchester with him and I do not think he completed his training.
