The 5th person along, half concealed, left to right is David Davies
After his retirement, Alf and his wife lived in Bowland House, Larkhill. A perfect gentleman, always friendly as was his wife.
They were both smokers, Alf always with his pipe.
I cleaned his windows when I was about twelve yrs old, inside and out, seven floors up!
Lovely man.
Thanks Kevin,
This what the site is all about, I am sure that if any of Alfs relatives read your kind comments it will be much appreciated.
Regards Bob France (Retired Firefighter)
Interesting reading.Alfred Barton was my fathers cousin Charles leyland.
Thanks Joyce,
I worked with Alf back in the 1964 when I started my long road in the fire service. I recall he was a jovial character always telling jokes and funny stories.
I hanks for your comment.
Regards Bob France
